I felt the same way as you do when I first got my 08 in August 07. Now that I have about 8000 miles on it, the seat is much, much better. I can ride for several hours now. I'm 5'10", so maybe your extra height would make a difference? In any event, maybe you should put some miles/hours on it to see if it conforms better. There are lots of aftermarket or replacement HD seats for sale, so apparently they are not always the answer.
I went to the Sundowner on my Deluxe.......Huge difference. It will set you down and back just a little......but there is plenty of room to add padding in the sundowner if needed.
By the way there is a "Sundowner" seat on the forums classified for $100 off a 2005 FB. Don't know if it will fit your scoot. It is listed as a "Badlander" but ad text says it is a Sundowner.
'08 Deluxe as well.....
I ran the tall boy seat for a bit..... sure is comfy - EXCEPT it looks like **** on the bike. I'll sell it to you if that's the route you end up going. Send me a PM if you're interested....
Anyone have any experience with Ultima seats? I have seen them on Ebay, and they are very reasonably priced, but I wonder if they are worth it. I am not looking for a long trip type seat, but something for around town. Thanks, and sorry if this has been asked before, but I am new on the forum.
