Default Deluxe seat question

I have had my 08 deluxe for about 5 months now and haven't been able to ride for more than about an hour. I'm only 29 so I don't think it's from old age. The stock seat is uncomfortable as hell. I know the deluxe is more accomodating to shorter riders so that may be my main problem, however I'm only 6'3". I plan on going on some long rides in the near future and need some feedback from some other riders. I think I am looking for a 2-up seat now and don't know if I should go with tallboy seat or sundowner. Any suggestions would be great.

I had the same complaint with my stock seat, I went with the Sundowner. Seems to sit lower and it does sit you back more. Got to do a 400+ mile ride with the Sundowner before the weather got wet, great seat for the money

I have a sheepskin on mine and it's good for a few hundred miles. I'm short though so that may make a difference.
p.s. I'm looking for a inexpensive Deluxe stock seat if anyone might have one (I'm going to tear it apart and make a "custom" seat so I don't want to have to pay a lot for one)

My wife has a similar problem with her Deluxe seat. But she doesn't want to lose the grab rail and Deluxe look so we'll probably send it out to Mean City Cycles for "reworking". They have a great reputation.

Does anyone know if the Sundowner seat sit higher, lower, or the same as the stock seat?

I'm 6'2 and I feel your pain. I shaved down my seat which moved me back and down a little. I also added some Kury Mk IV to stretch out a little. I'm planning on going with a C&C after the holiday becasue I have heard that they are pretty good on long runs.

I understand moving it back is better but lowering it down only makes it worse, right?

When I say installed I ment I had the seat recovered in leather and ostrich skin and while they had the seat apart I had a gel pad put in and they also shaved some of the original padding out to set me back and inch and a half. I still have my grabrail. That I also changed to the springer rail.
