My wife currently is running V&H Sideshots on her Deluxe, but since I lowered the bike, she keeps dragging the pipes in the right turns.
I am looking for suggestions as to decent looking and sounding pipes for her bike that meet the following critera...
Need to allow for a larger Saddlebag
Need to look "different" (her words, not mine)
Not super loud, but nice deep rumble
NO Duals
Above the lower frame when installed
I think that true duals are the answer. They allow you to use larger bags, you can get rid of the 25 lb exhaust bracket on the right side, and, unlike pipes like short shots, they won't be cookin your bag and its contents. Just my opinion.
Have to agree with the big shot longs. Thats what I put on mine. It has a nice sound. They are low enough to put bags on and they are long so the sound is behind the passenger. She won't complain about them being too loud when she is with you. My wife and I are for the most part deaf, but we can still chat back and forth a bit when we are on the highway and around town.
Not sure if these meet all the criteria but I installed V&H Q Series Double Barrels on my Deluxe. The sound is a nice deep mellow rumble...They also sit low enough for larger bags...You can see them on V&H's website...
