Before I do my winter mods which include detachable backrest, bags, and new bars, I'm seriousely considering just selling it and getting a Streetglide. My dilemma is that I have alot of $$ invested in it. Much more than the pics would lead you to believe, and even more time. At one time or another, I've had every part off the bike except the engine and trans and no one has ever turned a wrench on it except me so I'm a little sentimental about it. I'd like to keep both but I can't at this time. HELP!
Keep the Fat Boy and buy an iPod to compensate for the Streetglide's radio. It seems like you have put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into your bike, which is badass by the way. Its very unique. Thats something you won't have with a Streetglide unless you spend thousands again.
I didn't vote because I would be stuck like you. Your fatboy is sweet! I rode a '09 streetglide over the summer for a few days while my motor was being done. And man I didn't want to give it back! If I was in the market to buy a 2nd bike that would be it.
Keep the FB and get the SG, there are some awesome SG´s pimped out there...
Customization in a SG can be much more expensive than in a FB to really take it where you want. First thing is a great paint job (more surface) , chrome, wheels, audio system, motorized bags, air ride, etc... A SG is a great project IMO, stylished body work, hidden brake and turn lights, the list goes on...
I went thru that dilemma a few months ago. Keep my 07 FatBoy that I have spent more $$$ on than I care to share or start over again and do it with a SG. Two things that stopped me, I got realistic and decided since I really don't ride the thing daily, don't go on long hauls and it's paid for, which made me realize I should keep my FatBoy. But, if I had to do it all over again I would get the SG. Go figure.
If its payed for keep the FB,after all you built it up for you no one else....It dosnt cost to keep a bike around thats payed for...Well Tags and Ins is all....
