I've had 4 different bikes, all with the Harley chrome controls. Longest time was a bit over 5 years with no problems at all. The one thing I would suggest is do not get the chrome front master cylinder COVER kit. It looks cheap. It's just a cover that slides over the top of the OEM master cylinder. If you are going to do it, get the actual chrome master cylinder. More money, but a much better look. Agree or disagree?
I bought my whole chrome control, mastercylinder, clutch bracket and lever set from Cycle Supply for $129.00. They were normally $179.99 but lowered them to $129.00 because they were out of the set that usually sells for $129.00. They are great. The chrome is good. There is one spot between the master cyclinder and the hole where the mirror mounts that has a yellow tint to it, but it is very unnoticable, especially with the mirror installed. I would definately reccomend them. And for the price, if they only last you 5 years, who cares. The HD parts may be better, but they are not $400 better. JMO.

Also check out Custom Chrome,The make some good looking chrome controls.I 've on my current Heritage for over 2 years now with no problem.
From my experience with Custom Chrome, thier stuff is absolute GARBAGE.
I have a set of Kuryakyn switch housings, and I am impressed. They fit perfect, the chrome is excellent quality, and they cost a LOT less than the same HD housings.
Kury chrome is awesome quality at a great price (vs. factory HD)
Hello,
I have the HD chrome switches and no problems. Please check out www.chicagoharley.com, you can get 20% off of parts. However, if you order from them, it has been my experience that your dealer won't install. But my indy mechanic has cheaper install rates anyway, so win win! Good luck. Karen in PHX

That must just be your dealer's choice, not all dealers are like this, but controls can easily be done by yourself.
