Default Thunderheader and V&H

Need advice on sound and performance of a Thunderheader versus V&H Big Shots Staggered on a mostly stock TC96. Which is the louder pipe? Better tone quality? Looking to upgrade pipes and would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

I had V&H bigshots... took 'em off after only 400Kms, I did not liked the sound, high pitch for my taste. Looked around in the market and found Thunderheaders, those were my fourth and last exhaust system, never looking back. Great deep sound and awesome performance, keeps the gas back pressure so it kicks hard right from the low revs.

Mimo.

Thunderheader has slightly better performance on a stock motor. A friend has them on a cammed Street Glide and likes them. However, hers are quiet compared to my V&H. Dont know if all thunders are created equal. Do know, hers are quiet in comparison. Bought my bike used and it already had the VH installed. If I were to go out and buy pipes, it would be a tough choice. Performance over sound, loudness and looks. If you do plan on a cams in the future, forget looks, go performance because you will put a lot of money in performance parts and will want to squeeze out every pennies worth of tq and hp.

Whats more important to you? Sound or performance, i will always take performance. Learned the hard way, had V+H short shots. Sounded great, looked awesome and no performance. Went to 95" big bore, hp and tq in the toilet. Had to invest in whole new exaust system, went with V+H PRO-PIPE. Im happy now. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR CHOICE.
