Just cut the PVC pipe in half with a hack saw then use a hose clamp to hold it together while you insert the seals in the fork slider. Thats how I did mine without removing the forks from the triple tree.. Good luck with your project.

That is a great tip but was there enough room so you wouldn't hit the forks?
Did you tape up the fork to protect it?
Do you just tap around it, not much force?
Of course I could replace my no bounce that I destroyed and use that.

When we did my heritage and my son's wide glide we cut the pvc in half and then just used electrical tape to hold it together, when done cut the tape. We just put it in place and then used a rubber mallet on the bottom of the fork slider.

Like King Joe says, you do not have to remove the forks. I cut my pvc pipe lengthwise and used a hose clamp to hold it in place. Instead of tapping on top of the pvc seal driver, I used a smaller section of pvc as a punch, and hit that with the hammer. Hope that makes sense. Lubing the new seal with fork oil will help it drive in easier. Kind of a tedious process but it beats paying dealership prices along with the down time.

1 1/2 pvc and it would have been easy to take the entire forks off as they are held on by 2 cinch bolts at the triple tree.

I have had forks on and off my sport bikes so many times I lost count. It wasn't a matter of difficulty, it was a matter of not understanding how others where doing it.
