put chrome acorn nuts on mine..no there's nothing that's going to fall down under the fender when you take the rack off

THe fender is threaded nothing will fall when you take the rack off I remove and install the rack a couple of times a year. some times I ride solo and sometimes i use my rack bag to bring a jacket with me in the spring and fall.

I went with the leather fender rib as well. Too bad I have to spend another $70 and get one with the basket weave pattern now.

It is a Motherwell rack, but they quit making it for the Deluxe sometime back. You may find one on ebay, but I don't even know the part number now. I have had mine for about 4 years. I hope you are able to find one.

i did the same to my 06 deluxe, just went to the local ace hardware and found some chrome bolts that threaded right in... good riding

the motherwell rack, listed for the heritage springer is the same rack for the deluxe. . i asked them when i bought mine. they are just too stupid to list all the models that the rack fits.
