UPDATE, WARG - The aluminum diamond plate came in today. I ordered 2 peices in case I screw up the first one. If I don't, i am going to cut the second one for you. I'm going to my buddy's shop tomorrow to cut it. Hopefully all will go well and if it does, I'll be in touch. Keep checking this thread for the update.

That's cool man, you don't have to do that. Hopefully it turns out good for you, and for me too, LOL.
WARG - Good news. I got it right. Cut it, bent it, installed it. And I got to tell you. It looks awesome. What a difference from that black plastic thing. Anyway, the piece I have left, I cut to size and left it flat (easier to ship). You'll need to drill the 4 holes and then bend it. Given that you have one already, you will be able to match he bend. What I did was layed a piece of 6 inch (about 12 tall) round steel stock on its side and then layed the diamond plate over it (put a piece of cardboard between the diamond plate and what you lay it on to bend to prevent scratches) and pressed down on both ends to get the bend. It took a bit of work. I then drilled the bottom 2 holes using the measurements that you gave me (exactly 4 inches center to center from each other). I then installed the piece and lined up the 2 closed clamps on top. I then marked the 2 holes, removed the piece and drilled the top 2 holes. Then came the tough part. I put the piece back into place, loosely connected the top 2 closed clamps (getting the lock washer and nut on the back was tough due to lack of workspace). Then fasten the bottom 2 bolts and tighten all 4. My email is drustico@msn.com Send me a mailing address and I will put this piece in the mail to you. I should put this on the DIY Cheap Mod thread. Cost me $13 to do this mod and it looks better than most of the add-ons I've done. You get an assist on this one for the template. Thanks again.
I just got mine today, had a $50. gift card so it cost me $15. Mine is different than yours it has all sorts of bends, can't wait to get this done and get out and ride again as soon as the snow melts. I need to live in Texas
Today I learned how to post pictures. Now I can share with you the splash guard I made out of polished aluminum diamond plate (and then an update to my winter projects to follow). Warg, thanks again for your help with the measurements.
Rusty, that is SWEEEET!!! I am out of town but my wife said the package arrived. Can't wait to put it on. I have the diamond plate boards, pegs and grips so that should look right at home on my bike. I am doing the garage door opener install too so when I take the smoothie off, I'll reinstall your diamond plate version. Looks great man.
