RockyTopRider, The brand of tires I went to are Shinko, they bought out Yokohama. Seem to be a softer compound hence the better handling. I have about 1700 miles on them and can tell no wear yet even with depth gauge. I got to ride in the rain a few days ago and really seems like big differance from Dunflops. I live in Florida and the bike is all I own, I ride everyday rain or shine and average about 30000 miles a year. I ride to Sturgis each year, 13 years straight now, (5800 miles round trip) and last year I installed a new set of Dunflops a week before I left and the center was worn out on rear when I returned. The price on the Shinko tires was alot less than Dunflops so I figured I would try them and see how they were. A lot of the Sport bike riders here run them and I have not heard of any problems from anyone yet. Hopes this info helps, Ride Safe!!

Hey Decon,
Does the Shinko still look as fat from the rear as the Dunlop did? I was looking at the Shinko's also. They are damn near half price of the Dunlops on ebay.

Thanks,
Robert

Yea, the width is still 200, the height is what you will be changing. I really like the difference it has made in the gearing.

I've got a 2000 model that I'm about to do a conversion on and put a 200 rear set up on. Mine is a 5 speed. I'm just curious how much the lower profile tire will lower the rpms on it. I know it has to help on the 6 speeds. A couple of my buddies have the 6 speeds and are always complaining about it.

Chop On,
Robert
