The Train looks AWESOME !! That is the look i am going for. I am still a little concerned about botteming out carrying a passenger (Wife) but I think I am going to go for it
I lowered my bike initially 1" in the rear with the progressive lowering studs. Very easy install, and ride wasn't affected much. The following winter I installed the progressive 1" lowering springs in the front, and dropped the rear an additional 1/2". I also turned up the preload a bit on the rears at the same time. Ride is a little stiffer, but I'm only 21, so it doesn't bother me much. Never bottomed out, but I have scraped the frame and underside of the primary fairly hard on more then one occasion. Overall though, it is worth every penny. By going with the lowering studs, it cut down on the cost quite a bit. And this mod was 100% for looks, I had no problems touching the ground stock.
Brenden...have you got the HD reaper front wheel and standard on back ? love the look
Does anyone have any pictures to share of lowered FXSTCs. I am thinking about lowering mine, but am not sure if the stiffer ride is worth it. Does anyone have any experience with the H-D "Profile" Low front/rear suspension kits? Any pictures of bikes with these installed? I sort of like the fact that they only lower the bike around 1" and try to maintain the factory suspension characteristics. In the case of the rears, are these just stock shocks with the longer bolt installed for you, or is there some internal changes? I worry that I will regret not going lower if I get these though. Again, I would love to see some pictures of these kits installed. Are these stock on the nightrain or some other H-D model? Thanks in advance...
OK... I think I made my decision. Going with Progressive Suspension 422s in the rear and Race Tech w/ emulators in front. I'll post some new pictures once I've gotten my hands on it all and installed...
