Default S+S or Mikuni?

Gentlemen,
As you may know, I am ready to purchase a bike. It'll be a carburated model, that is for sure (20 years with carbs leave marks). I had a super E on my last bike (evo stock first, then got a 95'' S+S that I run with a super G). I plan on getting a set of hookers 2 into 1 or maybe some supertrap slip ons. Now my questions: do you guys think the Mikuni HSR 42 may be a better option than the S+S?

I don't ave any previous experiences with Sn'S, I currently have a 42mm Mikuni in my evolution and I'm very happy with it.

Mimo.

I have the stock CV and it works great for me. As for an upgrade, heard nothing but good about the Mikuni.

How did the S&S treat you on the Evo's? My wife has an E and I hate it. It is just too generic of a set up. Its a drag carb. Do Mikuni or the stock CVO with a little twicking is great and there is plenty around. My 2 cents.

I don't plan on getting another EVO, but a TC 88'', a carburated model. You're right, the S+S is very sensitive to any change you make on your bike, wich can be a real pain in the neck. I was flirting with a Weber doublecarb for a while, but after I sat on the bike of one of my bros that was equiped with one, I changed my mind big time, and went with a super E, mostly because it was the most fancy carb available in Germany at that time, but never really liked it.
After I took a closer look at the bike of the member oleschool, I am considering the mikuni-big sucker-George Sands combination, mostly because of what I read about the hookers on this board. Maybe an Accel or a dyna single fire ignition to complete the package, nothing too fancy. I try to keep it simple. Atleast, the set up shouldn't take me a week, like with the super E.
Please, excuse my bad english, I do what I can to make myself clear and to communicate as good as I can in your language.

Regards
Jean-Luc

I had a TC88 and kept the stock carb, Keihin. May be spelled wrong. Do a search on here with minimal mods its a great working carb.

I am not convinced that the CV can keep up with the big sucker, nor with the combo I have in mind. What AC and pipes did you run, and what changes did you do? How did it increase power and torque?
Thanks in advance
Jean-Luc
