Fat Boy Pipes: Pro Pipes, Big Radius 2-1 or Cobra 2-1?
Help me decide on my pipes. Had the Pro Pipes before and liked them but wondered about the other two. I've been told the Big Radius's don't add any power or torque but the Pros and Cobra's do. Any thoughts?
I wanna love those Big Radius's on the Fat Boy. Just looks sassy!
My mech has his own shop and specializes in custom work. He recommended the V & H 2 into 1. Took the packing around the baffle out and added 2 more holes in the baffle. Sounds all some.
IMO, those 2-1's look too metric. If I had to choose between the three I would go with the Big Radius, but I also don't think they are the right look for the FatBoy. I have Big Shots Staggered...love them! Just one man's opinion

Well, obviously I like the V&H. Even though it didn't really need it, I also took the packing off my baffle. I find it very hard to believe that any 2-1 would not add hp & tq compared to most 2-2's. Especially below 4000 rpm. I'm not running any ecm add-ons or tuners other than XIED'S. Did 77.6 hp @5250 and hp was still climbing. I wish the dyno guy had run it up to 5800 rpm but they had already pulled it off the dyno when I saw the sheet. Torque was 89.6 @ 3750, about 85 @2500 and 80 @4750. Looked very flat from 2500-4000. I think just about any 2-1 would be an improvement. I've had people roll down there windows at stoplights. How often does that ever happen? I also get compliments at stoplights too. Exhaust does sound awesome. JMO. People either really like them or really don't. Get what you like. Ride safe.
I have v&h big shot staggerd on my 2000 fatboy with no baffles love the look& the sound
Thats great JLO, but what about the third and most important factor. In my case, the most important factor. Didnt even here you mention PERFORMANCE, did you some how forget about that? By the way, with those baffles out you must be losing about 30% of your power. The pipes were designed to perform with the baffles in mind, to function and utilize BACK- PRESSURE. Thats what a good pipe relys on to perform properly, hope you dont have any modifications to motor. Becauase you are not getting any where near max. performance out of it. GOOD LUCK
