I am wanting to relocate my coil to the horn location and find a new spot to hide my horn, has anyone on here done this and could you tell if I can buy the bracket or even fab one myself, really I just want to see some pics of it complete, thanks alot, Lee
I saw that exile cycles has a whole new line of bolt ons for the FXST. He has a relocation set up for the coil and horn. I couldn't find it on the website but a youtube video has Russell Mitchell explaining all the new stuff.
I did mine on my duece used the stock cover I used the stock tabs and made up a bracket and bolted it to the horn tab and put the horn on the down tubes.

Could I trouble you to snap a few up close pics that show the bracket you made and the whole setup? I have seen you mention it a few times but have never asked. Did you just order two new plug wires that are the same length?
I was going with the RSD one on my train, but dropping $200 for such a small piece is abit much.
some questions first...what year is your bike? newer bikes have a hideous coil under the cover.
mine is an 07... 08 and 09 have the same but the epoxy is black.
here is a pic of the RSD one with a carburetor coil you can tell the because where the ignition coil plugs into is offset.
I am going to get a smaller horn and mount it behind the splash guard somewhere....
another thing you have to consider is that when you relocate the coil the ignition wires are a different length. you have to buy new ones and you can't use any old wires they have to be compatible with the newer coils. when you look in the various catalogs you will see that alot of the wires say up to 2006....also the lent is very had to find. I still cant find ones that will fit once I relocate the coil.
in the picture above that coil is for carburated model so it is easier to get cables....

Looks good, can you tell us where you got your wires from,I was thinking I could just buy two sets and use the two short wires, but that of course would be a last resort, thanks for the help, Lee
