Just been going threw my HD Manual getting ready to do some work to my 08 FatBoy, and the manual says you have to remove front wheel to remove the fender..am I missing somthing here.. but it looks like it will come off easy with the wheel on..right??
Well mine is an '09, and it was super-easy to remove with the wheel on! GENTLY press in on the edges of the fender as you are sliding it out the FRONT of the bike so you don't scratch the paint. (the edges of the fender will want to rub on the forks) I had a buddy of mine help me put it back on after I washed it in my bath tub. I gently pressed in on the sides while lining up the bolt holes, and my friend put the bolts in while I held the fender.

No,... you dont have to remove the wheel. JR RYder was correct in his instructions. I removed my fender when I polished my front forks and didnt remove the front wheel.
