Default Oil Filter Wrench

i haven't changed the engine oil in my harley since i bought it and i was going to do it over the weekend but i've seen that you have to use a special wrench. i was wondering what i need/what you guys use?? i have a harley oil cooler so a strap wrench won't work.
also i was wondering if i need to put in any extra engine oil since i have the cooler on it??

Harley sells a socket that fits on the end of a 3/8¨socket wrench. As far as the oil cooler, when you change the oil it should take 3.5 qts. Put in 3 qts and run the bike for a few minutes. Ride it till the motor warms up, and check your oil level when the bike on the jiffy stand. Add what you need till you are at the proper level.

This doesnt help get the old one off but I use the K&N oil filter that has a nut tack welded onto the filter housing. Then all you need is a ratchet and socket to change the filter next time.

I have also had to drive a screw driver into the oil filter type you have to get it to turn loose.

There is more than one way to skin a cat.

Too much. Go to your local auto parts store and tell them what you need. It will be much cheaper.

If you don't want to get the HD wrench and don't like the orange K&N. You might like to try doing this trick for a little 'different' look.

I use a cap type wrench that I picked up at autozone,no need for a hole in it. just break the filter loose with the wrench and remove it with your hand. mine doesnt even come close to the sensor(2007 deluxe).
