Should be directly between the shocks.

Is this one of those times when you need it and don't have it? My 99 was the same as the 07, between the shocks. Let it cool and you should be able to feel where it is.

10-4 on the location. It is hard to find, but exactly between the shocks and about 6" above the frame rail. Don't know if you can "feel" for it, but you can see it if you get the bike on a lift. The shocks are too close together to get my hand up there.

Maybe the previous owner changed the tranny. You may have to pull the fill plug and turn the bike upside down. That worked for my old lawnmower.

IF you you do find it I recomend Red Line. I just replaced my fluid from the HD Motor Oil they put in and put in Red Line. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Shifts smooth and the oil stays on the gears rather than flying off. Bike feels and rides smoother!!
