Hey guys, i have an 08 night train with a SE heavy breather, L.A. Choppers pipes, and the PCV. Im going to have a Wood TW-6-6 cam installed with in the next month. My real question is, when i go to a 103ci kit with 10.5 to 1 compression on a stock head w/ mechanical compression releases installed, will i make close to 110hp and 115ftlbs? I just dont think its worth the money getting the head ported or reworked for how little hp is gained.
Dont know until you get it on the Dyno. Ive seen dyno sheets from bikes on this forum making 90+ ft lbs tq with out doing the heads. But they all usually have a BB KIT (95ci or larger) cams , 2 - 1 pipes and a good tuner (PV III or Sert)
My bike came from the factory with the 95ci Stage 1 kit and only made 68 hp and 79 tq stock. I changed the cams to SE 204 and added a tuner and pipes (so it has 95ci, SE AC, V & H BBS, cams and a tuner) and had it is tuned in a mild configuration using a SERT and it pulled 85 hp and 94 tq.
Overall Im happy with it, its been extreamly reliable, runs strong but not a rocket, IMHO no HD is ever going to be a truly fast bike compared to what you can buy from some of the other manufacturers. That is not what they are built for or what we buy them and ride them for.
