Default need help with 02 sensors

Im going to put a set of pipes on my 07 deluxe this weekend. I feel confident with everything except removing the 02sensors. how and where do you unplug them? is there anything special to be careful of on removal or installation? thanks.

I have an 07 FXSTC with Rush slip-ons. I was told to keep the 02 sensors on as it helps keep the right fuel to air ratio, even when using the SERT. I know there are other systems that eliminate the 02 sensors and it is rather simple to eliminate them, just follow the directions that come with the new exhaust.

The O2 sensor wiring connectors are right at the sensor body (or maybe a few inches of wire pigtails), there is a tab to push and release the plug. Then use a wrench to unscrew the sensor from the header. It's very simple, you'll have no problems.

follow the o2 sensor wire from the exhaust to where it leads...the front one is real easy...the rear, on my nt, is under the oil tank...just unplug and remove the complete exhaust, then is easy to unscrew them from the pipes (at least that how i did it)

The front sensor is underneath a plastic cover near the regulator. The rear one is under the oil tank. Use a 7/8 wrench to remove them. When you put the new one's in, put a dab of never seize on the sensor thread. Every once in a while, you get a sensor that is galled and cannot be removed, you will have to replace it if that happens.

Just to add on to what everyone else has said...On my Xbones and I'm sure it's the same for all Softails, for the rear O2 sensor (like everyone said it's under the oil tank) I removed my seat and battery to get to it. It's very easy to do and use the never cease on the treads when you put them in the new pipes...

I removed mine after soaking in penetrating fluid, rust eater. took the pipes off and used a box wrench and it came off easy. Then get some anti seize grease for spark plugs and grease the threads and put them snug on the new pipes before installing them. at least the back pipe
