Looks like a truck backed into it ...and our 'crack' security team had teh camera pointed at a brick wall for who knows how long. I'm a bit bummed but it could have been much worse. Bike didnt fall and fender took the impact like it was meant to. No chrome or suspension damage, just out $340 for a new fender from HD. So all in all I feel pretty lucky it wasnt worse. Everyone here knows what truck caem in yesterday and was back at that bay picking up servers, but no one actually saw it hit and cameras didn't get it, so not much I can do but park somewhere else other than our 'motorcyle parking' at work.
Anyway know a place to order fenders cheaper? - I'm looking around by not much luck.
Here's my dent! Those jerks, no note, nothin.

BUMMER but you're right, could have been a whole lot worse. Check ebay or craigslist for take-offs. Best of luck!
P.S. Does your parking lot have a sign any where that reads to the effect that you park at your own risk and management is not liable for any theft/damages? If there is no such sign.........
I like AR-15s idea take that money you where going to spend on a new fender and get your rear fender fixed and a new paint job on the bike ... might cost a little more to get it all done but at least you got more bang for your buck
Yeah, I'm really lucky that's all it is. ...and no, the only sign is 'motorcyle parking'. ...and yeah, I'm concidering just using this as an excuse to pop some killer ghost flames on there!
nice work on behalf of the security team...guess they figured if all they ever saw was a brick wall, they wouldn't have to worry about crimes or accidents going on...
i'm glad for your sake it wasn't worse.
Yes, they are pretty worthless. ...but they love to get on your case if they dont see you badge in the doors and make you feel like a criminal. Even if they have seen you for years. That's mostly their job, that and putting orange stickers on cars that might not be displaying the proper parking tag hanging from the rearview mirror.
That's really about it.
Whats funny is when I asked about the camera not rotating, they sec guy was like ...oh no, it's manual see? ..and started rotaing it with a joystick. Then I reply, but it HAS the potential to be set to rotate, am I correct here?
SHOULD HAQVE REPORTED AS A HIT AND RUN AND TELL THE POLICE WHICH VEHICLE YOU SUSPECT, THEY CAN CHECK IT OUT AND IF THEY FIND AQNY EVIDENCE ON THE TRUCK EG PAINT THEY CAN CHARGE THE DRIVER OR AT LEAST PUT SOME LEVERAGE ON HIM TO ARRANGE FOR PAYMENT. sEE IF YOUR PD IS UP TO THE TASK OR JUST LAZY. TOM
Yeah, then I tread into how much trouble do I want to make of this. Not sure I want to involve the PD or take my job to point on not posting a 'park at your own risk' sign. I'm lucky it wasnt worse, so I think I'll get a new fender, pop it on, and make it a live and learn lesson. I dont have the budget for a custom paint job right now. I actually and having the pipes installed and dynoed today ..so the bump on the fender yesterday put a bit of a damper on what would have been my happier day today! ...but its cool, roll with it I guess. I'm pumped about my stage 1, and will get the fender addressed within the month.
Times are tough right now, so I wouldn't stir things up at work. Still, if you had a truck in mind it's too bad you didn't report it to the police. They could have looked for your paint on the truck. That's not saying they would have, but some will make the effort.
