The bolts the holds the the fork cover plate on for the Fatboys. What does that bolt screw into? Is it a nut or something more complex? I was attempting to install a windshielf and strippd whatever it was out, so now I need to figure out what to do to fix it. I have already tried rethreading it and that didn't work.

Thank you in advance!
You will have to remove it to re-thread it because the threader-tappitt will bottom-out on the upper-fork. It's the triple-trees probably that you are talking about. I believe it's a 5/32"?? Not sure, but you'll have to tap it out to the next size up probably. You will need to jack the bike up and take all of the weight off the wheels, and then....... well, it's a little work for sure.
It is past the point of being able to be tapped. My hope is that it is simply a nut that the bolt threads into, but I am figuring it is some more complicated. I am give a first attempt at a complete rethread with jb weld and some dish soap. A couple of write ups on the net suggest that the dish soap will allow the bolt to release resulting in a new set of threads. If not then I guess I am going to get some detail knowledge on how the fork cover is installed and all that fun stuff.
