paint strip the clear coating rub back with wet n dry till nice n smooth then use bench polisher to give her a nice polish its easier to pull the sliders off the fork tubes and do this but can easily be done still put together
I did mine twice.. I took the sliders off the bike removed the clear coat polished them on
the bench grinder with a polishing wheel... They did not last long.. (depends on where you live i guess)
At the end of last season they starting to oxidize again... I went on ebay did an auto-search within a month a found a set of new Chrome Sliders with all the seals for
94.00 plus shipping..Its been well worth it... and a lot less work! Just something to look into!
