Geez.....I would have gone nuts waitng for parts and the weather the way it was here today. Finished my project just in time. 400miles today, after my grandaughters soccer game at 10:00am. Ride it hard when you get it finished and take pictures wherever you wind up on the shakedown run.

All these stripped down bikes reminds me of a buddy of mine that bought a new superglide in 2002. Rode it a few hundred miles and then stripped it down to the frame to make it "his". He started puttin it back together, ran into problems and it sat in his garage for 3 or 4 years. He finally got some guys to help him and got it back together, I don't think he ever made it more than 50 miles before it would break down on him. He almost got killed on it a couple times and ended up taking it down in some river bottoms and settin it on fire for the insurance.

I'm sure you guys are much better mechanics than ol Marty, but those pics reminded me of that new superglide that was always sitting in his garage stripped down and covered with dust.

Man, we finally get some warm weather and your bike is torn down. I am sure it will be worth the wait...

Anyone can take things apart..... It's putting things back together that's the hard part!

Latest update:

Parts came back from powdercoat looking good. Got the a/c, forks, turn sigs, wheel, headbolt covers, plug wires, poly bushings, throttle/idle cables, pegs, shifter, and black stainless front brake line installed today. I also soldered in the wiring extensions (pain in my as) and I have to figure out how I'm going to run the internal wiring. Now I'm just waiting on Carlini and Heartland...

Default Frustration

All the frustration will be forgotten when you get that wind back in your face. But I understand it. I cussed evertime I went to work on the fatbone project. I cussed the engineers who designed it mostly. I've wrenched on my bikes all my life. And have never had the problems I had doing that rebuild.
