I am in the process of replacing the wiring on the front of my bike(splices and black tape from the previous owner are not really my thing). I am seeing what there is out there for nice looking wiring. I have used the braided chrome sleeves in the past and can't say I like the finished product. Any one have some ideas for a nice looking wire set or sleeves? Thanks
I have black split looms on the front of my bike from the tank to the headlight. I bought the Harley garage door opener that has to be spliced into the headlight wire. The opener never worked worth a darn so I ended up having to recut and resplice the wires. Rather than replace all the wiring I did a careful job soldering and heat shrinking it and then put it all in the black split looms that I got from a jon boat shop. Looks good in my opinion and I'm pretty picky about my bike. The only place you can actually see it is at the steering head and since it's black it's pretty hard to notice.
I always used heat shrink tubing. I am planning on going back when I change my bars for 16" apes and putting heat shrink on all the wiring inside the bars. I currently have it on the splices. That black mesh stuff would look good around the steering head where the wires go up under the tank. I'll have to check into that.
