Default Trade value?

Looking to trade my 07 FXST for a new 09 Street Glide or Electra Glide Standard and am wondering if the 12G they offered over the phone for my bike will be negotiable when I go to the dealership? I have never traded at a Harley shop so I would appreciate any input you might have. If they give me more for mine do they just jack the price of the new bike like car dealers? The black 07 FXST has the chrome wheel upgrade and security with 13000 miles, the back tire is 1/3 gone, front tire is new, installed the screaming eagle air cleaner and re mapped. This bike is clean with only one scratch on the rear fender. According to NADA blue book the resale value is $13,500. Thank you for any advice you might have.

is the NADA value for retail or trade-in? is your bike paid for? check completed listing on ebay, plus ads on cycletrader.

be prepared to do battle with the dealer since as you already suspected, they will either get you at the trade-in of your bike or selling price of the new one.

Looks like you've already started but just do your homework. Don't give in just because you really want the new bike. Call around to a couple diff. dealers and get their offers and prices. Make the dealers work against each other. That's the only way to get a hand up on the dealer. There's too many honest dealers around for these crooks to keep screwing people. Good luck!

my local dealer offers 1000 over nada trade in. the real bargin is what will you have to pay for the new one. most dealers will give you 2000 in goodies when you buy at retail. so if you get nada price and 2000 off new then your ok. remember you will get the same for trade with extras so take them off if you can and sell them on the forum

You can usually work with them on upgrades .. won't get their worth but talk to them about it ... Main thing is get the difference out the door don't wait until all hyped up on getting the Bike and see a bigger difference than you thought bottom line would be ..
