Default Security Options

What is everyone using for security? Right now I am doing the very basic, locking the forks and locking the ignition. I want to get an alarm or lock. Although, the locks are a pain when you have nowhere to put them (no saddle bags on my 2004 FatBoy). Can anyone recommend a good alarm that I can install myself? HD wants $269 for their alarm plus the $79 for labor, thats $350. They kill me on labor. I'm not mechanic but I can get around the bike with some good instructions...

Any help is appreciated.

Default RE: Security Options

I have a 2004 FatBoy with the HD Security system on it. If you want to go cheap there's lots of alarms out there. I still think the HD original alarm is the way to go. I have the siren no pager on mine. The security system is made to disable the electronics so the bike can't be started. You lock the forks and the only way it can be taken is by lifting it up and carrying it. I'm would love to see MOCO make a lowjack for the security system.

I say get HD's security and pay the extra. It hurts but it works as good as anything else on the market.

Thanks for your opinion. I'm figuring that is the way I'm going to go. I just wanted to weigh my options...
