I'll second the shop vac on blow mode. I only have a 3 hp little one that was $40 and is OK, but if you got a decent one for $100 that has upwards of 5-6 hp, it would be awesome. AND you would have a sweet shop vac to boot!
I used a leaf blower until I found small scratches all over my bike. luckily I buffed them out and then bought a 4hp air force blower which was THE BEST cleaning product I've ever bought. look on ebay. I found one for well below retail brand new, but now that I've used it, I would gladly pay retail.
I use a commercial grade Redmax 5.5HP backback blower. Its works extremely well.
But..... It moves so much air so fast that I now have water stains under my glass speedo gauge cover. Probably as I seem to really blast at the console as it hides water that likes to trickle out during the waxing and messes me up!
The air force blaster is the best of all of them because the hose lets you get closer to the nooks and crannys in the bike. It is a bit spendy but I use it on my bikes and my cars. I was originally not sure if it was a good value for the $$$, but after using it I would buy it all over again.
I bought the Metro Vac Air Force Blaster Sidekick last year. It is a small, hand-held version of the blaster ($70). It does a pretty good job of drying things up and is small enough that it is not a pain to dig out and use. I found myself using it for other chores around the house too.
