Thundermax vs Power Commander
i had the same question...the PCV just sounds much easier to work with...plug and play with free tunes from Jaime...i think i am going the PCV route myself...anyone out there have this installed on the xbones? Where was it mounted? I'm ordering one on Monday.
I have a PC-V I got from fuel moto and the bike runns great. Even out **** pounding on it Im still getting 33 mpg all city riding. I mounted mine on top of the batt. I have heard the 09's may be a little harder something to do with how the ECM is mounted, but I havent seen one to know. Jamie at fuel moto would be a good source. Let me know if you have any other questions . All in all it was a pretty easy install.
I've been trying to make the same decision. I think I'm going with the TTS Mastertune. It utilizes your stock 02 sensors. I know the thundermax has a wider AFR threshold but in reality you'll really never run beyond the standard 13.8 to 14.6. Numbers might be off a bit. With the Tmax and TTS you sort of control your own destiny and I like that aspect. After reading through all the posts for the last few months all indications are you really can't go wrong with any of them. Depends on how much engine work you see yourself doing down the road. Myself, after the stage 1, exhaust, and tuner I might look into changing cams but it's not high priority at the moment.
That's why the Tmax uses wide band sensors. They tell the ECM exactly what "is" happening so the ECM can adjustment the AF ratio to match the installed map.
BTW I have had a Tmax w/Autotune installed in my bike for over 2 years and nearly 10,000 miles now without so much as a burp. Fortunatly for me I found a place that was not going to retail them anymore and sold off the last 19 or 20 they had for their cost (about $575).
[QUOTE=Citoriplus;4883385]You would still need to remap the ECM for that AF ratio before you put them in or the silly thing will start screaming it has a problem and light up the "check engine" light. Worse case it might even make the AF ratio leaner because the 13.8 O2 sensors will just be saying 'no' all the time. But the ECM has (in stock form) only a very narrow adjustment window and doesn't have a clue which way to go to fix things.

I will have to disagree as the 02 sensor has no smarts and will only switch when the correct afr is detected. If the 02 switched at 13.5 then that is what you would have.
I have fooled the stock ecm with 330 ohm resitors and it ran open loop (12.5 afr)with no "check engine" light.

I have the T-Max on my bike also. So far (1,200 mi.) I love it. I plan on gradually upping the power and for that the autotune is definitely the way to go. The upfront cost will easily be made up by the time and money saved down the line
i want that car!
MY T-max is a mil times better and worth the money over the PC5 with its Piggy Back Auto-tune anyday all day! The price might be over 800.00 but after you buy both the pc5 and the auto-tune and then the dyno run costs forget about it your already there. My bike basically Dynos itself basically everyday! I then run monitor once a month or so.. send file to T-maxx and then I get it back all tweaked out and ready to go for my bike... This is no Joke folks.. Ive had a couple of them and my buddies all have the pc5 on their 09 and newer glides... Make no mistake their is no comparison I cant wait to have it dyno'd and see what if any changes they make! I cant rant and rave enough here about this product it keeps my 09 glide with 107 big HP running like a top and I did it all myself...

(I tuned with power vision, and with the time....and tuned with dyno and gain torque, hp and I improved the map.)
