I can only speak for myself but I own an '05 Fat Boy, and last July I bought an '09 SG. I love my Fatty, but there's no beating the SG for long riding. I still love bumming around town and doing poker runs on the Fatty though. If I could only afford one or the other, I'd take the SG all day.
After getting my new 07 Heritage, (the only one I wanted), about six months after buying I started looking at SG, salesman had a all black one and that really caught my eye.
Then at one hog rally talked to a guy with really nice Heritage, he said he has SG in garage at home but he like the Heritage on trips better, both 07's said he felt the softy rode and handled better. His taste..
The new 09's ride even better than 07's, I still like the looks of the SG, to me Silver with black accessories would rock.
only draw back is wife doesn't like the batwing, she like the clear windshield.
I just went the opposite and traded an 08 Street Glide for a new Softail Custom. No matter what I did, couldn't get rid of the head buffeting ... 4 windshields, lowers, etc. It was a great looking bike but after a hundred miles I couldn't read the friggin road signs.....
Love the Custom.
