Well guys....I might be leaving the softail family. I'm looking at possibly trading in on an 09 streetglide. My salesman told me they will give me $15000 for my bike. What do you guys think?
Well that may be a good trade value. But wouldn't you be better off selling it ands not losing that much money. I sure don't hold it against you for liking the SG. But I personally couldn't stand to lose that much money. And then you're just gonna start all over making it yours.
i would take a streetglide over a bones any day imho. and im only 20.........touring bikes are not for old people they are for smart people....thats why i ride a rocker haha!
I went the other way - had a SG & found it boring. It's too efficient & only a short step away from a Honda.....gulp.......
Mind you, rode home from St Tropez in one hit on it, all 875 miles of it.
It's just that it travels fast & brakes well, but if that's what I want I'll go Jap at half the price. P/ex'd it for the Bones, lost a bit of dough but feel soooo much happier.
Well thanks alot guys for all your replies. I'm still debating though. If I do go with the Streetglide, I'm gonna get it in Black Pearl w/ABS and cruise. I saw a black pearl Ultra a couple years ago in the sun, and MAN did that metallic stand out tremendously. anyway, thanks again everybody for your opinions.

Man let me tell ya you will love the black pearl. First paint that I never got tired of and actually like it more and more as time goes by.
I have not swung a leg over an SG to see what they ride like, but I think they look pretty cool with a few ....mods. Baggers have their own look. I could be tempted to test ride one of 'em though, perhaps this Saturday as my fatty is still.....waiting for the heads to come back from Baisley.
Cheers, to you for on your new ride if you get an SG; give one a thorough test ride before you jump and see if it behaves the way you want.
