For a long while, people with a Deluxe used a Springer seat rail, and backrest pad that was available thru HD. Unfortunatly, those parts have been discontinued as of a coup years ago. If you can find them, they work GREAT..Wife loves her set-up. She rides alot of miles, and has always used the stock seat.

Seat Rail 52687-97
Tall Backrest Pad 52827-97
There was also a short pad, but it didn't offer much in comfort or support

The drivers seat rails are still available from Harley. The pads, both short and tall, are no longer available thru Harley. New short pads are available on eBay for $160. Used tall pads have been going from about $275 - $400 on eBay.
