I have riden some of the dynas and owned a sporty, they seem to have a higher center of gravity than a fatty, heritage or deluxe so the softail may feel lighter to you because of the center of gravity but iit is a heavier bike. If you were comfortable on the dyna you wont have a problem with the softail. Because of your height you may need to lower the bike or change seats to be able to be flat footed at a stop.

Rent one and ride it to decide.

Xaran is right. While the softail bike is actually heavier, the lower center of gravity gives you better leverage when you pick it up, making it seem lighter.

Of course you can handle it. How many women have you seen that are by far shorter, and some of them weigh less as well on softails??? There are thousands of them out there. With that low saddle height you won't have a problem at all.

I'm 5'5"--also have a new 09 Fatty. I lowered the back 1" and installed Swingback bars--perfect now, and that's with a bit of a rise in height from the extra padding on a new Mustang seat. And the other's are correct--I traded up from a Nightster--the Fatty is an easier, more stable ride--lower center of gravity, plus the 200 and 140 tires back and front. It is a much bigger bike though--the width of the thing--she's a beast, but the new sport seat narrowed things down perfectly--love love love this bike :-)!

You shouldn't have a problem with it at all. I'm trying to get my girl to ride her own, she is 4'11" and my 'train is 2" lower and still to tal for her but still working on it. Good luck with it and enjy the ride, you'll love it

i like it becaused it handled like it was a smaller bike coming from a sporster. the smaller low profile front tire makes it handle even better.

Similar to tk353 I just went from Sporty to fatty 09 and enjoy this ride much better although the bike is heavier. The forward controls are great. I'm juys taking it slow (within reason) for the first 500 miles!
