Which wire are you guys tapping into to run led licence plate bolts for your side mount. i want to tap into the harness that runs under the fender to the tail light. i have a 2007 fxstc.
Run the wires to under your seat (theres a plug-n-play) joint box under there.
Earth the lights on a bolt holding something to the frame the live wire needs to be spliced in2 the run wire which i think is brown (someone will correct me) but if ubsure just keep sticking in the box until they light up (wont do any harm) have turn signals on when you do this if plate lights flash you got the wrong one
On my 07 FXSTB, the connector for the rear wiring harness (see attached pic for wiring diagram) on mine is:
BLUE = Run (I tapped the positive wires from the plate lights with a Posi-Tap connector, so no splicing or anything was very easy)
BLACK = Ground
Violet=Turn Signal
Yellow/Red=Brake
I took the negative and tied it to the screw that holds the ECM onto the fender.
