However if one wants the maximum "performance" (which one would assume you want if you went with the AC) than a fuel management device seems most likely.

I am in the same boat...just trying to figure out the perfect balance between price / performance / temperature . (High temps is what started this for me...then I couldn't stop
Exactly! What is the best rate of return? I am never going to build a 124 inch monster. I just want the best bang for my buck with my 96inch.

Now, what is that? If someone can tell me that would be great. Lol

If you're never going to go past 96 inches and keep the stock cams and heads, then you're probably fine with something cheap. Then again, having had both the dealer map and a custom tune, I can tell you that the $650 price difference was worth it.

Thumbs up Tuner

My friend has a new Night Train. First he added a set of pipes, and the bike responded nicely. Some popping on decel but only slight. The heat off the pipes was significant in the right thigh area. Next was the addition of the Screaming Eagle basic air cleaner (Stage 1 mod). The bike responded again with more power, but also had more popping on decel the heat was even greater and it now had some flat spots at different RPM's. Went to the dealer to get the stage 1 download and they would not do it, said it would be a waste of money and the bike would still be too lean. I was impressed with the dealer's honest response.

My friend purchased a TTS with a standard tune from Doc and it was a night and day difference on the bike. Much more power, smoother through the gears, and much cooler engine temps. No dyno time. He has now successfully done the V tune and filled in the VE tables.

This is definitely the route I plan to go with my 08.

You guys with the closed loop bikes are lucky you can do that. We're stuck not being able to VTune with the older bikes.

nothing as the dealer said is not the same as a down load after pipes/AC.
unless the 09's are different than the 07's which if U change the pipes/AC then something is needed...

I am running the Ness big sucker, Hooker Troublemakers, dealer stage 1 dl, SE plug wires, and XiED's on my 08 Train. Runs great with no issues. Since adding the XiED's, I have noticed that it's running leaner, from the exhaust smell and a little less heat. Also better throttle response with the XiED's. Everyone has opinions, and they are all valid to some extent. I wasn't looking for drag race performance and don't plan on doing much, if anything, motor wise. You can find XiED's and the like, pretty cheap in the classifieds, if you want to try something like that. Worse case would be they don't suit you and you turn around and sell them to someone else. Whatever you decide, do what works for you and what you can afford.

Default My two cents

I added the Cobra Fi2000. The bike opens up great and runs cooler. 199.99

Can some one tell me what a TTS is? Who builds the map on this system if not the dealer?
