I agree. I was very suprised at how labor intensive it was to keep the wrap tight and to keep the overlaps even. I had to start over more than once, but I'm glad I did. If I did it again I'd have someone work with me.

Wrap is cheap so i say if you like it, go for it, its just labor intensive and buy extra.

I just wrapped my pipes today, cost was just under 100.00 bought everything at PAW, time was about 4 hours but i had to rewrap 2 pipes, wont say it was fun but it was doable, just wet, nasty, an be ready for the itchy's cause that glass gets up your arms.

Thanks, everyone for your responses. Tinkering with these things could get expensive!

After the wrap dries, instead of using the silicone spray to keep the wrap from fraying I use high temp BBQ paint. It will take an entire can to spray both pipes.

I always think that wraps look great, I would suggest though to get black exhausts and wrap those, I am not a fan of that chrome exhaust look in that picture for the crossbones

the cross bones but it goes against the natural bling factor I have. If the pipes ever start to look lack luster, I'll be all over the wrap.

[QUOTE=MNROD;4997100]Hello. Just bought my Cross Bones and the one thing I noticed on some at the dealers is this DEI (I think) exhaust wrap on the pipes. Mine didn't come with it and I can't decide if it's something to get or leave the chrome showing. Looking for suggestions, thoughts; cool or not??? Here's a link to a new one with the wrap so you know what I'm looking at.

thanks.

Its all personal. but U asked for thoughts... nope, I haven't seen any bike that wrapped the pipes that I liked. I do like some new black pipes..
