Default rear tail light question
Hi Guys,
My rear light bulb blew up, I took it out, I have a question

I found this greasy clear color material on the bottom of the bulb (right at the contact points in the bottom), is that normal ? what is that really ?

I am curious, I hope it is not a big deal , the bulb was also blown as in BLOWN !, like exploded and it made me really worry .. I hope I don't have a short or anything like that.

I appreciate your help

That was more than likely di-electric grease, which is a good thing and nothing to worry about.

it's called die electric grease. it's to help avoid corrosion.

It is dielectric greASE. It prevents corrosion, it is suppossed to be used there. Replace your bulb and use the grease.

Thanks Guys,

Any idea if it is normal for the bulb to be broken when I looked at it (it had a hole and looked totally burned .

di-electric grease. for the bulb to be like that it most likly was water or moisture or temperature change.

Haven't change many bulbs in your life... they been using that for years!!!!! and good ole yellow or white grease before that....
