Anyone have suggestions on what material and brand is best for stopping, low dust, non-scarring of the rotors, etc.? Just received my polished SS factory style rotors and don't want to get 'em messed up.
Well I have mirror polished OEM rotors on my 05' Train and I tried the OEM pads first...
The bike wouldnt hardly stop and honestly felt almost dangerous!
I then bought a set of E-Bay pads that are supposed to be good.....Bike still barely stops.
Niether pad has scored the rotors in over 2,000 miles around town mostly and they look shiny as heck with a slight black coating where the pad grabs. To be honest I wish they would so the fvcker would stop!!
Next up is a set of lyndall pads. At this point stopping the bike is trumping the shine.
Heres what they look like after 2000 miles. Lil' black where the pad grabs. Definately not scored.
And it stopped? Maybe I should start over with a set of new OEM pads...I hardly have any front brake unless I grab a fistfull. Bad modulation. Feels like the rotor was dipped in motor oil.
