I am trying to decide on either V&H BSS or the Double Barrel's.I don't want anything to loud,so I am leaning towards the Double Barrels. Is anyone running these, and if so how do they sound? Are the BSS really loud?
most V&H BS's are loud, even the quite baffle doesn't help a lot, a little bit but still 92 DB's, standard baffle is around 98DB's, stock pipes are around 81DB's
Heres the deal on the BSS. They actually make good power for a 2-2. Really good power actually. They have the powechamber crossover and the correct step in the pipe.
I recently switched from the BSS to a 2-1. More for the look than the gain but the gain was nice.
My bike dynoed at 93HP/104TQ with the BSS. I'm at 6000 feet above sealevel so our numbers suck up here.
The 2-1 Rinehart I put in its place and had the bike retuned did 91HP/108TQ
Thats on a mild stage 3 build.
The BSS aint no joke. They work. I just got tired of shiny pipes that everyone else had.
The steeper TQ curve of the 2-1 is kinda sweet too.... The dyno is in my album if you are interested.
The BSS are crazy raspy loud. I liked the noise. But they work good too!
Thanks guys.I called Vance and Hines. They told me that the BSS are about 20 db's louder than stock and the Double Barrels are 10 db's louder.I didn't ask about the quit baffles. He did say that the BSS had a deeper tone.So maybe I will get those with the quit baffles. Chaz-is your bike carbed or injected?
