Need more oats!
You just cant take a boxfull of parts that you figured up based on a few phone calls and some info gleaned on a Harley forum, walk into a reputable motor shop around here and tell them "This is what I want"..."Make it Rip".
You just come across as some internet educated ********. A good motor builder will show you his front door.
Thats always trouble in these parts!

Second....you're right....you can't throw a box of parts down but it isn't that hard to get someone to put together what you ask them to put together. You just have to know how to talk to them.
I didnt mean to insinuate that "You" would be some ********...I think I was insuating that maybe a newb myself even a few months ago walking (Not waltzing
) into a shop armed with a buncha facts gleaned from the net with a set of cams and plans may not be the best way to start his build?I reread my post....It came out all wrong. You know what I was trying to say/type etc...
I have the upmost respect for you hammer. You know the deal. You know yer' stuff. Chit I have mad respect for anyone who has gone through a build on par with yours. You didnt get there with a deer in the headlights look on yer smiling overpowered face!!

My bad. No disrespect intended whatsoever. I think I typed that wrong.
What I should have said was that a guy who is new to his local Harley motor builders scene may consider approaching the job by listening first to whatever the Indy has to say (You know how they are Hammer...You know. I know you know!!)
Then pulling out his gleaned info and getting more into it. Its not just here. The good guys are egotistical by nature. They are set and know what they can make work. Sure they are always gonna work with you on what you want but you know the potential scenario of a guy with his big box of parts and a list of what he wants done creates.
No name calling intended. I typed to fast.
It should have said " Dont take a chance at coming across as an internet educated motor guru ********. It will only end up costing you more money in the long run!"...
Much love for ya' Hammah.
Now go help me out on my 103 thread at Vee-Twin. I cant stop thinking about that motor. In the crate unstarted brand new for the price of the stroker crank and a set of jugs???
How can I pass that up Hammer!! Talk me down
