I thought I was always going to get the NT. Really like the black. But when I asked about putting on different bars and a bigger/softer seat, well.....bought the 09 Softail Custom. NT still is a bad looking bike, though.
I agree with a previous post, whack your buddy upside his head.
Each to his own, but I've never understood why people get a Train and then chrome it up? Makes as much sense as buying a Custom and stripping it down and blacking it out...
one of my best friends and I got our bikes at the same time, I'm a minimalist and he likes bling...so I'm on the Train and he's on a Custom, both of us happy campers...

It just makes sense to buy the bike that is closest to the "vision" of what you want it to look like... Makes me wonder if there's a salesman putting these silly ideas in his head.
OK.OK!! Here's the deal.. He got the 2009 NT for a song.. A dude bought it from the dealer put 900 miles on it and traded it in for a truck. He is an auto dealer he got it for way under book.. He also owns a 2005 Standard that he picked up at an auction with light damage with all the chrome you could put on it for 6K and fixed it for less than 2k.. He has the Standard sold and he will only have to put in 3k for the NT.. So he's up like 6-7 K.. He is only looking to add a few chrome pieces. I'm just asking what has changed between 06 and 09 TC other than the bore.. I fully understand the Black is better than chrome idea. But he is used to all that gaudy chrome and can't pass up the deal.. Thanks..

Just have him sell it to me for dirt cheap and wait for the next shinny deal to come by. i could always use 2 sweet bikes ! One to ride and One to wash.

This is still not an excuse and you still need to hit him in the head with a tire iron. If he's truly your friend, he will thank you for it.
