I used to feel that way until I lost three friends to head injuries. All unrelated accidents too... sorry don't mean to be a buzz kill....
It's those freaking cagers out there. Makes me want to wear full body armor!

I'm not worried about the price. I could care less. The only reason I need a helmet is because of the dumba** lawmakers who say I have to wear one when I'm in their state. [:@]

I had thought the same thing about the price. A couple hundred bucks seems like a small price to pay for a quality helmet. With all the money I've dumped into my bike, this is just a drop in the bucket.

I have an ACC Carbon Fiber and a NEXL carbon fiber. NEXL is better protection, very comfortable, and easy to buckel. ACC is smaller with more of a brain bucked look. It is also comfortable. No problems with either one as far a wind drag. If you go lidless, you might find the ACC better. I wear mine around the beach, the NEXL most of the time, and a Harley 3/4 with shield on longer or cold and wet rides.

I just got the ACC and used it on Saturday. I didn't really go that route because of cost or look. It was a weight issue. I used to use a fullface and found my neck and shoulders getting tired. I compared the weith of that helemt with some of the halfs at the HD dealer and although the halfs were lighter, they didn't seem THAT much lighter. When the ACC helmet came, I thought that the box contains a couple of paperback books for my wife.

I agree with the comments about the snap. I should asked for d-rings, but I'll get used to it.

Alot of these so called "carbon fiber" helmets are not DOT approved and the have a DOT label on the helmet, so when you start to place an order with a helmet company, ask for them to fax you a copy of the DOT certification or have the manufacturer fax you one....I had one of these so-called "DOT approved" carbonfiber helmets and it turned out that they had failed the certification test miserably!!!!!! They did not hesitate in refunding my money in record time. Just my two-cents!!!!

That could be true, but the ACC carbon fiber helmet IS DOT approved and has the appropriate cert tag in the helmet. You can buy a non-DOT from them also.

How much heavier/bulkier is the DOT ACC carbon fiber helmet compared with the non-DOT one? Has anyone had a chance to try them both on?
