I can't imagine that there is really much of a difference in weight when comparing the DOT to non-DOT. The only difference between the two is the foam inside. I bet if you called them they would tell you.
German non-DOT approved . I've never been stopped by a cop for it,...like someone else said, I dont think most of them know whats approved, and whats not,....this thing is very comfortable, 29.99 cheap as they get, hardware is good and dependable, and you dont look like a dork when your wearing it,....more like a S.W.A.T team member. LOL
Mine had a "DOT certification tag" also...... Just ask for a copy of the "DOT certification letter". The dealer or distributor can get you that very easily.
Are any of you familiar with nexl sports helmets? I also found helmets on the arlen ness website that I like. Both appear to not have a very thick padding on the inside. The website says that both are "DOT Approved". Is that all that is required to make me legal?
Do NOT do business with NEXL
They stole my money.
I paid for a new helmet 4 months ago and I have nothing. They wont even respond to
numberous POLITE voice messages and e-mails for the last 3 months.
