I think you can have too much black, but if your going BLACK the train is the place to do it!
You'll want something to offset all the black or it will just be a wash. rthomp has some good subtle offsets. Tank Badge, finned Jugs, Chrome headlight ring, point cover and not all his bolts are blacked out. On a BLACK bike a little bit of subtle contrast goes a long way. Just make sure the parts you contrast are cool cause they will draw the attention.

Thanks man. I agree, I think that the chrome fasteners and a few other odds and ends (spoke nipples) add to the look. When I do the seat, it'll have red stitching on it to match the tank badge and the wires.
Now with that said, I saw an older Dyna a few months ago that was totally (and I mean totally) black. It was a good-looking bike, though I think I would have done it differently.
Look at what just a black set of DNA wheels and a Black pipe did for this bike.
Small changes = big difference. I like a little bit of chrome as well but I'm knee deep in swapping out my chrome lowers for a set of PC black ones, had my shift and brake levers PC'ed black along with a set of handlebars and the elbow on my AC snorkle.
I'm leaving the chrome swinarm inserts, big *** haedlight, triple tree, rear axle boly covers and polished rotors to offset the black.
Will post photo in a day or two when I have it back together!
Your question? Cabn you have too much Black? Thats subjective. "I" could have too much black...RThomp may never get black enough! Everyone has a vision for what looks right to them.
