That's not a stupid question, if you don't know or understand something, and ask.

A stupid question is the one you DON'T ask cause learning the answer the hard way can easily end up costing you money or get you hurt.

This one isn't going to do either of those things, but your next one might so don't ever be afraid to ask.

BTW:
Zacharia put a pic of some chrome aftermarket ones.
They hold the two fork tubes and fit the steering neck. Hence the name "tripple tree".

They attach the fork tubes to the frame. The bar in the back runs thru the neck of the frame, holes in the front sides are for the forks and risers for your bars attach at the top.

Heres a close up of them on a bike.

I think you can positively have too much black...but that's only my opinion. You will quickly learn that you will almost never get a consensus on an opinion question on this forum, and you usually end up more confused after the question than when you started.

Do what YOU like. It's easier.

I also believe that a bike can have too much black, just like one can have too much chrome. To ME there has to be a nice balance. At first I was thinking of adding black pipes to my Night Train but the more I look at other pictures of different bikes, the more I am thinking I would like a chrome set. Don't get me wrong, there are some really nice bikes on here that for my own personal bike are a little too black and a little too flashy, they all look great, just not what I would want for my ride.

Out of all the colors out there, if you are going to go overboard on any color - black is your safest bet. Personally I think "too much" black looks a heck of a lot better than "too much" chrome.

Thats what owning a Harley is all about. You create a bike thats in your vision, it doesn't matter what other people think as long as your happy with your creation. How ever you decide on customizing it skys the limit. Bottom line is you still own a Harley Davidson. Too much black or chrome doesn't matter, stick to your vision no body else will be riding your bike. RIDE SAFE.
