Default crossbone bars Q

long story short but the 1" gimps on my bike are shot. they were never knurled and cant be pinned since i have internal wiring and they are loose as hell. The stealer told me just to find another pair of 16" apes that can be internally wired and they would just swap em out for me. My question is, can the stock mini apes of the crossbones be internally wired? and if so does anyone have a set of the bars with cables they would be willing to sell? thanks in advance

You would need to drill them yourself, but it can be done, step bit apparently works well. From what I have read you drill two holes and then connect them by dremeling them out, then grind them smooth to debur. I am considering doing the same on a set of 04-06 FXSTS bars.

I had a similar problem with my apes, I ended up taking a chisel to where the knurling was to rough it up... Took awhile, but it worked well, they are nice and solid now.

make sure he tells the powder coater to mask of the knurling or you'll end up doing the chisel trick regardless...
