The floor board inserts on my 09 Deluxe keep separating from the base at the back end. All I do is pull the rubber nipples back through the holes in the base with needle nose pliers.Anyone know of a fix for this ?I'd hate to lose one on the road.
Its prone to happen with how they are held together. I bet your probably scraping them before it comes apart. I had this same problem and ended up replacing them with some old school half moon style boards.
If the top plate didnt overlap and angle down the sides they wouldnt do that, if you scrape them enough it actually pushes up on the top plate forcing the nipples out.
I once thought about taking them apart and drilling a hold in each nipple, then putting them back together and inserting a small piece of metal clothes hanger in each drilled hole in the nipple, just to keep them from seperating.
The only time I ever had all the nipples come apart at the same time was when a little dog ran out in front of me and I couldnt do too much other then hit him, accident avoidance and gravel roads dont work well together. Well the dog ran off yelping and I had to put the nipples back together. I use to see that dog everyday. After that I didnt see him for 6 months or so, if it was the same dog.
the last time it happened to me I took some clear silicone glue i got from lowes and put it all over the nipple before i put it back through the hole. that was about a year ago and it hasnt happened since. it may come out tomorrow, but hasnt yet.

We've got this exact same issue when my wife rides. The silicone glue sounds like a good fix though. Thanks!
