Unhappy Got A Leak!

I have a 2006 Fatboy. Last winter (2007/2008) I had the dealer replace the solid wheels with Thunderstar mags. At the same time I had new tires put on. Over time I have developed a slow leak in the back tire. I recently put 50# of air in the tire and spent about an hour going over the entire tire looking for a leak with soapy water. I checked the bead on both sides of the tire, the riding surface as well as the stem and valve - couldn't find a thing. Has anyone experienced anything like this? If you did, where did you find the leak and what did you do to find it? Thanks!!

Hmmm....if there is a leak anywhere, soapy water would work in detecting it. Odd.

Being a cast rim, there is a slight chance it could be leaking through porosity of the casting itself into the cast spokes and out. If you were to pull the bearings or make discs with rubber washers and clamp them on or threaded rod through the centers (sealed of course) and submerge the whole wheel under water it would likey show up.

just what i was thinking but maybe the air will only go down one time as the cavities are filled. has it leaked a second time? also some air loss is normal over time. i have had rims that loose 2 lb a month and others that loose 2lb a year.

+ 1. I've seen it on truck wheels before.
