Fishtails do sound different, old school look and sound, not for everyone, I paid $750 for mine new, sounds like a good deal, had them a year and a half, 7000 miles and fit and finish are great.
Personally, I just don't see what you all see in fishtails? Do they sound different (or better in your opinion)
then Big Radius or Big Shots, or any other pipes? Is it just the look you're drawn too? I consider this a legit
question so I'm not going to worry whether this ruffles anyone's feathers or not.
i liked the looks of them. i thought they would look great on my bike and be a lil' different from the norm.
the sound was amazing to me once i finished putting them on.

I dont think there is a better looking or sounding pipe on the Deluxe.
I like the look and sound of the samson fishtails better then the V&H. Yes to your second question, they sound better in my opinion. Its mainly the look I was going for and I got the great sound for free. Personally I dont know what people see in the Big Radius or Big Shots, but I guess thats why we all are allowed out opinions and why there are so many options out there. Neither of the pipes you mentioned would look good on my bike just like I dont really think the true duals would look good on a fatboy, but then I dont like the look of the fatboy to start with.
My favorite sounding pipe for the Deluxe has to be the Roadhouse 2 into 1, and my second favorite would be the Sampson Duals.
As to appearance it would be the same pipes but just changing the order. The Duals just fit the look I was going for. I was tempted to roll my own from parts, but I am very happy with the Sampson's.
