Default Rocker/Heartland Seat

To those who already have the heartland conversion, I was curious how much more comfortable is the heartland seat that comes with it? My bike is lowered and I was just wondering if the extra cushion in the seat helps takes some of the bangs out of the bumps in the road.

I did a 8 hour trip with the seat. No problems here. I am gonna put some gell inserts in it because I'm re doing my seat so I sit a little lower.

Mine doesn't have more cushion in the seat than the stock set up however it is a little more comfortable because of the shape.. Longest I've done in one day was a little over 400 miles.. I'm not gonna lie, my *** was getting a little sore at that point.. lol.. I'd like to send it to meancity cycles and have them put the gel or memory foam in it but I don't want to be down for 2+ weeks this time of year..

As for the ride, I've got the 422's on mine have them adjusted right for me.. My ride is smooth and better than when the bike was stock.. Your mileage may vary..

The seat does not have as much cushion as the stock seat, but it is lower and gives you more back support. Plus it makes you feel more like you are riding "in" the bike instead of "on top" of the bike. Riding "in" makes you feel more comfortable from a mind set point of view, so I believe you are able to ride much longer. Whatever the take, I certainly like the Heartland seat MUCH better.

Hmmm. I had hoped for $2000 I'd get a better ride. My butt is used to the seat so thats not my issue as much as the pounding I take over every bump. Perhaps I need to evalute the lowering kit the dealer installed. Maybe they made a mistake on it since you say yours rides better lowered than it did stock.

Comfort may also depend on your height.. for me its not as comfortable atm.. i need to extend the forward controls to seat properly.
I am 6' ,also the heartland seat is a bit stiff for my liking

For me, lowering kits make any bike ride rough. I know I have said this quite a few times on here, but the air ride is the way to go for bigger guys. I am 6'-2" and weigh 205 lbs. I have the 3" extension kit on the forward controls, the Heartland Conversion Kit, and the Arnott Air Ride. This combo is a better looking set-up than stock, and with the air ride, it is much smoother.

Yeah, I keep hearing about the air rides. I know they allow you to adjust the ride height on the fly. I dont feel comfortable with the bike at stock height (seat sits too high) so even lowered down the air suspension still provides a pretty smooth ride?

By the way, I'm 6' just shy of 200lbs
