I thought the detachable windshields were suppose to be so easy to take on and off mine is a pain in the *** it is so hard to get into those rubber gromets should they be all the way in there if any pics let me see please I got it in there but not so easy this sucks
I was going to suggest that the bolts holding the rubber grommets might be too tight. If they're too tight, they'll squeeze the rubber grommets and make the windshield hard to install.
5 seconds off or on.
I put the bottom slides into the grommets first and the tops line right up as I push it towards them.
Like the other posts said, you can't have the bolts too tight.
Too loose sucks too, as I lost one which vibrated out on a long run without the shield on.
The Memphis Shades clip system is WAY better. You'd think HD would make a modification. Those little spring-tabs on the end of the HD mounts DO NOTHING. You can still pull the windshield off without even touching them. $619 CDN.$ (on sale) for the HD one that I ended up returning because it was junk. Only one and a half turns of thread bite on the upper mount bolts. I won't get started now cuz I'm getting off topic.
+1 on the silicone spray. I was stumped, because I'd checked and double-checked the torque, and nothing looked out of place, but I almost couldn't get the windshield on. A quick shot of silicone spray and it slides right on. Thanks for the tip!
